Millennial Parents – Unlocking the Potential of the Next Generation of Family Consumers

Millennials are having kids – lots of millennials and lots of kids. And as parents, they think differently than the Baby Boomer Generation they are replacing which has implications for the choices they are making for their children on everything from clothing and toys, to digital content and even what they eat for dinner. Come join Nielsen Book’s Director of New Business Development and resident Children’s expert, Kristen McLean, as she shares highlights from Nielsen’s recent Global Millennial research, draws a picture of the key drivers for this generation, and helps WIT members connect the dots so they can optimize their strategies for connecting with this increasingly important consumer group.

Presented by: Kristen McLean – Director, New Business Development, Nielsen Book | Entertainment

Kristen McLean is the Director of New Business Development at Nielsen Book, a part of Nielsen Entertainment, where she is responsible for developing new lines of revenue from existing products, as well as the creation of new initiatives that expand Nielsen’s value to its publishing clients. As a part of her role, she is the key client manager for the Children’s Publishing business, and she has overseen Nielsen Entertainment’s Kids’ consumer research since 2010. She is a 22-year veteran of the book publishing market, a serial entrepreneur, and an industry thought leader. As part of her role as an industry strategist, Kristen lectures extensively on issues facing the publishing world and she is deeply interested in the confluence of consumer behavior, technology, literacy, and global transformation in the Digital Age.
