Women in Toys and Playthings Magazine Announce Nominees for the 2006 WONDER WOMEN OF TOYS AWARDS

10/21/05 - New York, NY - Women in Toys, a not-for-profit trade organization for the toy, gift and licensing industries, will announce Nominees for its 2006 Wonder Women of Toys Awards on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, during the American International Fall Toy Show in New York. The formal announcement of Nominees will take place at the Wonder Women of Toys' Nominee Cocktail Party from 6-8 pm at Ottimo Restaurant, 6 West 24th Street, and is co-sponsored by Playthings Magazine and the Toy Industry Association.

After last year's successful launch of the Wonder Women of Toys Awards program, Playthings Magazine and Women in Toys once again join to honor women who have made outstanding industry contributions.

The 2006 NOMINEE CATEGORIES are: Retailer, Manufacturer, Inventor/Designer, Entrepreneur and NEW CATEGORY: Women to Watch - up & coming industry women.

Over 30 Nominations were received with essays by peers detailing the outstanding characteristics of each Nominee such as leadership qualities, innovation, position within the industry, accomplishments, mentoring abilities, etc.

The list of Nominees as well as Nominee bios will be posted on the http://www.womenintoys.com website after the formal announcement on Tuesday Oct 25 at the Cocktail Party.

Final Award Winners in each category will be chosen by a Judge's Committee of industry leaders from the Toy and Licensing Industries. These Awards will be presented at the 2nd Annual Wonder Women of Toys Awards Dinner to be held at the American International Toy Fair on Sunday, February 12, 2006.

Award winners will also be profiled in a special section of the February issue of Playthings Magazine

The Wonder Women of Toys Nominees' Cocktail Reception will include drinks and buffet Hors d'oeuvres at Ottimo Restaurant, located at 6 West 24th Street between Broadway & Sixth Avenue. The Wonder Women of Toy Nominee Announcements are scheduled to take place at 7:00 PM.
