Women In Toys Announces Highly Successful Portfolio Design Show
Anne Pitrone, WIT Design Show Chairperson and one of the founders of Women In Toys, states, “I’m very pleased to report that over 40 attendees reviewed the work of some of the Industry's top design talent in a venue designed to support innovation in design at all industry levels.” Pitrone states, “By enabling our members to network at various levels throughout the industry, as well as giving ongoing focus to the countless contributions of our members who have been the "unsung heroines" behind many successful ventures, WIT brings confidence and opportunity to our members in this fast-changing industry.” Comments from participants and attendees: The Portfolio Review was a big improvement this year. The room was
easier to find and there seemed to be more participating members. It
was great for me and my colleagues at Fisher Price to visit one room
and collect so much needed creative support. The WIT Portfolio Review
is becoming an invaluable resource!" We were very impressed with the high caliber designers we met in terms of quality and experience. We are looking forward to working with many of the group. Women in Toys is to be congratulated for organizing
such an event and assembling such a great group of participants. It’s a great opportunity to talk shop with other freelancers
and meet the product managers who are here only once a year. It’s
a big help. It was incredibly energizing to spend time with some of my fellow freelancers. It always impresses me to see a room filled with such a variety of talent, who are all so willing to keep in step with the changing times in our world of toys. Seeing the smiling faces of those representing the many companies who
were willing to come and check out our portfolios was also very gratifying. The Portfolio show was a great opportunity
to meet new talent and resources. It's great for one stop shopping! You
can find whatever you need soft goods and comic book illustration to
doll sculpts and graphic design. There's something for everyone. As a freelance toy designer of over 15 years, having an opportunity like the WIT portfolio day is a dream come true. Women In Toys has made it possible for the freelance world to come together with potential clients creative teams to see our work and meet face to face speaking to them about their needs all at one time and in one place. It was very exciting to get such a positive
response from so many large toy companies interested in meeting some
of us for the first time and some for the first time face to face.
