Nancy Peters, previously the Marketing Coordinator at the International
Toy Center, is a 2002 graduate of New York's Baruch College, Nancy
holds a BBA in Marketing and Advertising. Since leaving the toy building,
Nancy has been a freelance graphic and web designer, as well as the
New York Graphics Manager and Marketing Associate for the commercial
real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle.
Nancy worked at the International Toy Center for four years before
it was sold, she was initially hired as an intern during her senior
year at Baruch. As a result of her success in assisting and coordinating
events and promotions, the ITC created a full time position for her
upon her graduation in 2002.
The ITC also recognized Nancy's creative abilities and provided her
with courses in Graphic and Web Design. Showing special talent in these
areas, shortly thereafter Nancy was awarded the position of Marketing
Coordinator, where she oversaw creation, design and placement of all
promotional material, advertisements, show signage, and decorations.
Her work has been displayed in trade publications such as The Toy Book,
License! and Playthings magazines.
Nancy's responsibilities also included managing the ITC's website.
In the short time she was at the ITC, she revamped the entire ITC website,
concentrating on ease of information retrieval and online show registration.
She continued to work diligently to make the website interesting, informative
and a reliable source for the industry.
While at Baruch, Nancy participated in the National Student Advertising
Competition, presenting an advertising campaign directly to the Bank
of America. Nancy continued her education at Fashion Institute of Technology
where she was certified in Graphic & Web Design in 2004.
Nancy's passion for designing has grown to include photography. She
enjoys designing custom invitations and greeting cards for friends
and family through her small company “Sweet As Pie Cards”.
Nancy was Miss Teen New York 1998, grew up on Long Island, NY and currently
resides in Manhattan. A member of Women in Toys since 2003, Nancy has
been instrumental in the success of this past year's WIT events.
