Background

The Northern California Chapter has been active since before 1998, serving industry members throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, from San Jose and Napa to the East Bay and beyond. Members include representatives of companies large and small, as well as solo entrepreneurs, in all fields and functions relating to toys, games, books, arts and crafts, and beyond, including:

• design
• inventing
• marketing
• manufacturing
• safety testing
• museum and experiential sites
• publishing
• advertising
• public relations
• childhood learning
• toy business law
• licensing and others

Recent meetings have been held at Wild Planet; the Children's Museum of San Jose; KID Group; and ZEUM children's museum and play center. Meetings are held around the Bay Area to give everyone the chance to attend and keep the variety flowing.

Our meetings are generally held on a midweek evening, beginning with a tour of the host company or location, with remarks from our guide, and then a chance to ask questions and talk. We then go to a nearby restaurant for informal dinner or snacks and a chance to talk among ourselves about the evening and our interests and endeavors. It's always an interesting and stimulating time, and we invite everyone to attend.

We usually have at least two events per year, spring and fall, with ambitions for more and better meetings. Please contact us with your questions and ideas for venues and events.
