What is WIT?
Women in Toys, Licensing and Entertainment (WIT) is a membership-based organization that provides women working in the toy, licensing and entertainment industries with the resources, support, opportunity and connections that will help them achieve and elevate professional and personal success.
How is WIT organized?
WIT is volunteer run, with the exception of an administrative staff which includes an Executive Director and two administrative assistants.
WIT has over 2,000 individual and corporate members, with Chapters in the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, France and the U.K.

Our Board of Directors sets the strategy, policy and direction for WIT, and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the organization.

Our Advisory Board consists of individuals who provide their unique knowledge, skills and fresh perspective to help guide the WIT organization.
The WIT President chairs the Board of Directors and heads an administrative staff comprised of an Executive Director and two administrative assistants, who carry out WIT’s day-to-day operations.

Who can join WIT, and who are its members?
Anyone wishing to make connections, build relationships, and grow their business in the toy, licensing and entertainment industry is welcomed to join. Our membership includes dynamic women and men with diverse backgrounds and experience who are at all stage of their careers – from students, entrepreneurs and start-ups, to mid-level and senior executives, to retirees with vast industry knowledge.
How much does membership cost?
WIT offers 2-Year, 1-Year and Student memberships. 2-Year membership is $300/year, 1-Year membership is $175/year and Student membership is free. Membership year begins the date you sign up.
Once I am a member, how do I stay informed?
We regularly send e-newsletters with updates regarding regional and national events, member news, industry happenings and other announcements. We encourage you to check our website often, and also stay connected through social media on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
When/Where/How often are meetings and networking events held?
WIT’s Board of Directors and Regional Chapter Chairs meet once per quarter via conference call. Regional and national events take place throughout the year, and are held at a variety of times and venues, from breakfast or lunch meet-ups, to casual evening networking events, to larger-scale events at industry trade shows and conferences. Our annual Wonder Women Awards Dinner held during New York Toy Fair is a must-attend gala event where WIT honors and celebrates the remarkable women in our industry.
What happens at Regional Chapter Networking Events?
WIT members get together at Regional Chapter events to network in person with like-minded professional women in their geographic area to share ideas, stories and resources, and to promote their business, product or service. Guest speakers are often invited to Chapter events, which enhances our members’ experience and broadens their professional knowledge. Please check the Events page on our website for specific dates and details. If you’d like to suggest a Guest Speaker for a regional event, please contact your Regional Chairperson.
What if there isn’t a Regional Chapter near me?
WIT is continually striving to expand our organization by setting up Chapters around the globe. If you cannot find a Regional Chapter in your city, we encourage you to connect and collaborate with other industry professionals in your area to start one. Members who have started chapters have found the experience to be extremely rewarding. If you’re interested in starting a chapter, please contact info@WomenInToys.com, and we’ll work with you to set things up.
How can I get more involved with WIT?
WIT strongly encourages its members to attend regional and national events. Joining, chairing or co-chairing a committee is another great way to get involved and build relationships. WIT also has a presence at most industry trade shows and conferences, where members have an opportunity to volunteer. This is a fun way to interact with industry colleagues and make new connections.
How do I know if a committee is right for me and how do I join?
WIT offers its members a terrific opportunity to build new business relationships and make a difference in our industry through committee work.
