POSITION SUMMARYThe Sr. Category Analyst delivers fully integrated consumer, category and market insights to guide strategic choices and action plans, leading to VTech's market share growth. The Sr. Category Analyst will understand the retailer reset process as well as item life-cycle management and be able to interpret data and present in a concise manner that is understandable to a broad audience.The Sr. Category Analyst position pays a competitive salary and is adjusted based on the incumbent's background and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide fact-based information and analysis to support and drive strategic direction on products to Senior Leadership, Product Development and Category Management based on market research, syndicated data analysis, customer point of sale data and competitive intelligence.Provide strategic support and business reviews through data capture, data analysis, and planogram development; creating compelling visual presentations that tell stories with data.Conduct in-depth analysis of customer data that includes new distribution, promotion, trends and competitive analysis, pricing and promotion effectiveness.Lead meetings with retailers to outline specific strategies to optimize product mix, shelf/display space, merchandising tools and price promotions to reach targeted consumers more effectively.Produce routine reports and data tracking, integrating multiple data sources for a complete analysis, identifying efficiencies across the organization.Manage and communicate knowledge of competitive product, performance, and business trends, providing Senior Leadership, Sales and Product Development with product recommendations.Conduct deep dive analyses of pricing and promotional strategy, identifying trends and recommendations.Utilize shopper panel data to provide consumer insights to internal and external stakeholders.Develop and modify data-driven planograms for key retailer resets.Provide recommendations for continuous process and reporting improvements.Collaborate through communication and teamwork with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, and professional manner.Exercise sound business judgment.Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities.Treat all employees, guests, customers and others affiliated with our business with respect.Conform and abide by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and VTech's Rules of Engagement.Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.Other duties as needed or required.

POSITION SKILLSExpertise in linking analytics via traditional data sources with cutting edge capabilities and tools to develop insights into action.Strong understanding of marketing, sales, shopper insights, corporate strategy, and retailer strategy, operations, and planning.Extensive knowledge of planogram building software and process (Blue Yonder).Ability to develop and influence strategy with both the retailer and manufacturer.Excellent communication, planning, analytical skills required. Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and presentation skills.Must be able to work independently and manage time efficiently in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a high-pressure environment and across different time zones, demonstrating can-do attitude and flexibility with changing schedules, scopes and priorities.Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 preferred.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION4-6+ years of progressively responsible experience in the area of CPG/Retail Category ManagementBachelor's degree in Business or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.Masters degree is desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENTDuties are primarily performed in an office environment, although hybrid work is allowed as appropriate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a full-time, hybrid position, working typically a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Core hours will be set between employee and manager and will be based on business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

TRAVELTravel is primarily local during the business day, although anticipated out-of-the-area and overnight travel may vary and could be expected approximately 10% of the time.
