About the Role

In this customer facing role, you will represent Melissa & Doug by providing analytical support to our Amazon business. You will build collaborative relationships, build and maintain the forecast/plan for your customers and define areas of opportunities for our business. This role is critical to delivering our strategies and profitable sales growth for Melissa & Doug.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Customer Business Planning



-Analyze retailer KPIs and internal sales data to provide fact-based sell story to profitably grow sales


-Review and ensure ongoing productivity and profitability of the retailer assortment


-Assist in developing and implementing growth initiatives and promotions


-Develop weekly, monthly, and annual shipment plans, working closely with the customer on an inventory JBP




Inventory Planning



-Consistently work to enhance and innovate the forecasting model to accurately determine -Amazon inventory needs based on POS, weeks of supply, VLTs, planned promos, and seasonality


-Work closely with supply and demand teams on risk and opportunities in the shipment forecast based on trends


-Review incoming purchase orders for accuracy and gaps to forecasted demand


-Effectively forecast across multiple sources of supply (domestic, direct import, drop ships)


-Cross-functional coordination and communication on custom product development, inventory availability, order flow, order issues, cost/pricing, and promotional planning


-Build forecasting and launch plans for new product or new marketplace launches


-Track the success of new lead item launches and make recommendations to optimize based on performance



Promotion Planning



-Work closely with Acct Manager to build and maintain a promotional calendar and assortment that drives to the annual sales goal


-Coordinate with the marketing team on promotional plans and assortment focus to ensure successful promo execution


-Review promo performance / ROI and use learnings to improve future plans

REQUIREMENTS



-Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Accounting, Marketing or related field preferred


-At least 3-5 years of experience as an analyst or planner


-Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a plus


-Advanced problem-solving, research and data analysis skills with the ability to forecast to anticipate trends to make data-driven decisions


-Super Excel user, with ability to perform complex functions and formulas, and analyze high volumes of data


-High degree of proficiency with developing custom reports and utilizing third party reporting tools such as Tableau, Alloy, Pacvue, Stackline, etc.


-Experience with Amazon’s Vendor Central, Amazon Analytics, Advertising, and ecomm reporting tools is a plus


-Strong knowledge of Google suites or Microsoft office


-Excellent interpersonal & multi-tasking ability with excellent time management skills


-As this is a high visibility role, clear and strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
