We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with experience in consumer goods manufacturing and distribution. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting practices, with an understanding of the manufacturing and distribution processes that drive this dynamic sector. Experience in the toy industry or related consumer goods is highly preferred. In this role, you will ensure financial accuracy, and work with operations and logistics to ensure smooth company operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities


 - Perform daily general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end and year-end closing processes.


 - Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and comply with GAAP and internal controls.


 - Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.


 - Assist in analyzing trends, variances, and opportunities to drive financial performance.


 - Oversee cost accounting processes, ensuring correct allocation of manufacturing, distribution, and operational costs.


 - Evaluate and refine costing methodologies, particularly in complex product environments such as toys and consumer products with seasonal or fluctuating demand.


 - Work closely with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to integrate financial insights into day-to-day decisions.


 - Provide financial expertise during cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies and cost management.


Required Qualifications


- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.


- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, specifically within the consumer goods manufacturing and distribution sectors.


- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks


- Attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with on-site and remote staff, and across departments.



Preferred Qualifications


- Prior experience within the toy industry or a related consumer goods sector.


- Familiarity with the unique challenges of manufacturing, cost accounting, and inventory management as it pertains to toys and similar products.
