POSITION SUMMARY



Under the direction of the Controller, the FP&A Manager will manage our Sr. Financial Analyst and will be responsible for capturing and reporting monthly forecasts and annual budget for the Electronic Learning Product Division. The FP&A Manager is also responsible for managing special projects and analysis as needed.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Accountable for the monthly forecast information as well as the monthly conference call presentation for/with Hong Kong; identify and communicate the highlights and key changes.


Management and mentorship of our Sr. Financial Analyst.


Accountable for the Annual Budget information; identify and communicate the highlights and key changes.


Review inventory projections and collaborate on excess inventory.


Prepare monthly Freight-In accrual for posting and forecast effects of freight rate changes from Hong Kong.


Collaborate with other departments to provide Customer and Product (Category) P&Ls as needed.


Incorporate key financial metrics/statistics to validate the financial data for accuracy and completeness.


Drive process improvement and provide new ideas throughout department and company.


Collaborate through communication and teamwork with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous, and professional manner.


Exercise sound business judgment.


Work independently and collaboratively and manage time effectively in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities.


Treat all employees, guests and customers and others affiliated with our business with respect.


Conform and abide by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instructions and VTech's Rules of Engagement.


Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.


Other duties as needed or required.


POSITION SKILLS



Capability to successfully manage and lead direct reports, with a minimum of 3 years direct management experience.


Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.


Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred) with reporting tools.


Excellent analytical, verbal, and written skills with proven ability to solve problems and find solutions.


Proven track record in managing projects and in process improvement.


Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in order to meet changing deadlines and priorities.


Self-starter with a "can do" attitude with the ability to have a big picture outlook.


Collaborative, versatile, candid communicator, good listener with sensitivity to multiple styles and perspectives, who is able to build and foster relationships with cross functional audience.


Self motivated individual who holds themself accountable for results and desires to thrive in a fast paced, performance driven environment.


Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 preferred.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION



7 years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Budgeting/Forecasting and Accounting in distribution/manufacturing, consumer product goods industry.


3+ years of direct management experience.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field; or any combination of experience and education that provides the necessary skills, knowledge and ability to perform essential functions of this role.


CPA certification is a plus


Masters degree is desirable

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK



This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Core hours will be set between employee and manager and will be based on business needs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.



TRAVEL



Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected 10% of the time.
