More About Me
Tell us about your career journey and how you ended up here.
I have had a career in HR for over 10 years but founded my sticker business almost 7 years ago. For the first 6 years, we were focused on creating a wide variety of stickers and grew our customer base to over 100k, but earlier this year, we decided to focus on licensing and in less than a year have partnered with some amazing licensors like Sesame Workshop, PBS Kids and Strawberry Shortcake.
Describe yourself in 5-7 words - have fun with it!
I am the founder of the sticker company Blank Tag Co. I enjoy making a product that allows our customers to connect with things they love through stickers. I am a newlywed who runs a company with her husband which is both fun a stressfull at the same time. I am also a dog mom of a 10-year old chihuahua mix who. My favorite things in life are trying new coffee shops and traveling to different cities to try new restaurants.
Tell us about a time when you thrived at work, and what you learned about yourself from that experience.
The licensing expo was definitely an eye opening experience. Not just an intro to the industry, but it allowed me to identify a skill that I didn't know I had, relationship building. In my HR experience, I have mostly dealt with people I already know well and never really had to network. I always believed I was not good at it but the licensing expo showed me otherwise. I truly felt that it allowed me to develop a skill that I did not realize I had. I was able to pitch to licensors on my own and make deals with companies I had only dreamt of working with. It showed me that I already had the skills to succeed in this industry, I just had to be confident to share my story and brand.
What is your favorite part of your job?
For me it's being able to create stickers of IP that I loved as a kid. Partnerships with Teletubbies and Arthur from PBS Kids allowed me to bring staples of my childhood into a cool modern consumer product that our customers have loved.
How about when you "turn off" and go home? Any hobbies or fun activities you are involved in?
I love salsa and bachata dancing, but my guilty pleasure will always be reality TV. Nothing allows me to turn off my brain like watching an episode of a reality TV dating show.
Any must-read, must-watch or must-follow recomendations?
Anything by Jasmine Guillory but I would definitely start with The Proposal.
