Tell us about your career journey and how you ended up here?

I started out by making videos for my son. I wanted him to have appropriate unboxing videos to watch. I found that more people were looking for family friendly content. I started my TikTok live journey about a year ago. I have created a live that is rated G, no talk of politics, no bullying allowed, no hatred, and everyone is invited. The live show is also family friendly. This November/December TikTok had a live fest competition. I was apart of the Education/Tutorial group and I received 5th in the country for TikTok live. I unbox toys, mystery items, craft, talk about science, and we talk about mental health. All the money that is raised from my show goes towards the school that I teach at. I teach middle and high school science. The school I teach at was started for at risk youth (parent or parents incarcerated, part of the foster care system, etc) It is a tuition free private school that is funded 100% by donations (we are currently working on grants). So my community on TikTok helps with supplies, food for the kids, a laptop for a teacher in need, and we just purchased a fridge since our fridge broke in December. I have met other amazing creators that are also trying to make a difference with their platform and we are hoping to join together to make an even bigger difference. I ended up here because I wanted to find all the toy events that I could join and to hopefully network.

Tell us about a time when you thrived at work, and what you learned about yourself from that experience.

Getting 5th in the country for my live show on TikTok was an amazing experience. I got to meet a few other creators that are wanting to help me out with my school and I can help them out as well. 

What is your favorite part of your job?

Helping the kids to hopefully have the space to focus on school when home life might not be the best at the moment. Also for anyone to come into my live and have a safe place to come and relax and get away from the worries of the world. 

How about when you "turn off" and go home? Any hobbies or fun activities you are involved in?

Hanging out with my husband, my kids, and my dog.

Live creation is so much different than any other kind of social media. I am connecting with my audience on a personal level. It feels like we are having a facetime conversation and its one big group call.
