Pitch, Learn & Grow at WIT Empowerment Day on October 2 at Dallas Market Center

Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment Kicks Off Fall Toy Preview® with product pitch opportunities and networking with Walmart, Hasbro, Spin Master, Jazwares and top industry experts

New York, NY – June 15, 2017 – Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT) is pleased to announce that its annual WIT Empowerment Day will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017, the day before Fall Toy Preview® in Dallas officially begins. Held in collaboration with Walmart, WIT Empowerment Day provides a power-packed day of product pitches, mentorship, and face-to-face connections with the industry’s best and brightest – all ready to help participants take their businesses, products, and careers to the next level.


This event is designed for entrepreneurs, manufacturers, inventors and business owners who want to grow their business or catapult their career in the area of toys, games, licensing and entertainment.


WIT members will have the unique opportunity to pitch their products to Walmart buyers, and pitch products and concepts to top toy companies for licensing or feedback, including Hasbro, Spin Master, PlayMonster, and Jazwares. Members can also participate in interactive “Ask an Expert” Info Sessions, where they’ll be mentored by top industry experts on e-commerce, crowdfunding, financing, patents and trademarks, packaging, design, manufacturing and distribution, marketing and PR, and much more. “Looking to Launch” Bootcamp sessions and a special keynote speaker will round out the afternoon.


Walmart Buyer Panel and keynote are open to all Fall Toy Preview exhibitors and guests with a show badge. Speakers and additional panels will be announced soon.


Registration Now Open: Advance registration for WIT Empowerment day is required. Pitch sessions are limited and will be scheduled on a first-come basis. Those wishing to pitch Walmart buyers must be a 51% women-owned business, and prequalify by completing the Walmart Pitch Application portion of the registration form. Empowerment Day 101 Webinar – June 20, 2017 – 12pm-1pm EST: WIT will host a series of free interactive briefing webinars for its members to prepare participants for this event. The first webinar, Empowerment Day 101, will be hosted by Empowerment Co-Chairs Nancy Zwiers, CMO of Spin Master and Deb de Sherbinin, founder of Perk Consulting, who will provide an overview of the day’s activities, share tips on how to prepare for product pitches, and give details on what women-owned businesses need to qualify to pitch Walmart. WIT Cocktails & Connections Party: Immediately following WIT Empowerment Day at 6:00 pm on October 2, all Fall Toy Preview guests and exhibitors are invited to attend a fun and relaxing evening of mixing and mingling over delicious food and drink. Founded in 1991, Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT) / The WIT Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to advance women through leadership, networking and educational opportunities. WIT serves and supports women at all stages of their careers, from entrepreneurs and startups to seasoned industry veterans. The WIT Foundation grants scholarships to deserving students enrolled in industry-related undergraduate programs.
