Women In Toys Announces New President and Board Members

Organization Realigns to Focus on Growth and Advancement for Women in the Toy, Licensing & Entertainment Industries

New York, NY – April 15, 2014 – Women in Toys (WIT), a global organization for professional women in the toy, licensing and entertainment industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley Mady, President of Brandberry, Inc. as their new board president, succeeding Joan Luks, President of The Serenata Group, who served as board president for 3 ½  years.

Women in Toys provides its members with a collaborative, empowering environment through shared resources, industry connections and extensive networking opportunities to foster professional growth and career enrichment.  The organization recognizes and promotes the achievements of outstanding female leaders at all levels and capacities within the industry.

“I am honored to serve as president of WIT and look forward to connecting with each of our members," said Ashley Mady. “Our industry is teeming with smart, strong and talented women, and I’m excited for the opportunity to work together and take WIT to new heights. Our new committees have refined and strengthened our organization, and I encourage others to get involved, join a committee, and take advantage of everything WIT has to offer.”


Other new appointments include Stephanie Barone, VP of Product Development for Innovative Designs as Treasurer; Caitlin Gutekunst, Senior Manager, Content Acquisition & Business Development at LeapFrog, as Regional Chapter Chair; Jennifer Quattrock, Independent Design Contractor as Design Chair, and Mali Baum, CEO of Beezeebee, as Chair of International Chapters.


WIT also unveiled a new committee-based structure to support the organization’s goals and mission.  Committees, chaired by board members, are composed of WIT members, whose diverse and talented expertise will help guide WIT toward continued growth.

ABOUT WOMEN IN TOYS, LICENSING & ENTERTAINMENT

Founded in 1991, Women in Toys, Licensing & Entertainment (WIT) / The WIT Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to advance women through leadership, networking and educational opportunities. WIT serves and supports women at all stages of their careers, from entrepreneurs and startups to seasoned industry veterans. The WIT Foundation grants scholarships to deserving students enrolled in industry-related undergraduate programs. WIT has 25 chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, France, the UK and Australia, with liaisons in Finland, Germany, India and Lebanon.
