The annual WIT Wonder Women Awards honors outstanding women for their achievements and accomplishments, and their commitment to enriching their workplaces and our industry. Consider nominating a colleague, friend or any woman who has made an impact in toys, licensing or entertainment for each of the following categories: Creator/Inventor, Licensing, Manufacturing, Marketing/PR, Sales, Social Responsibility, and Rising Star.

2019 Wonder Women Awards Categories


Nominations close October 31, 2018.

Submission fees are non-refundable, and are as follows:

  • $75 – August 15 through September 15
  • $100 – September 16 through October 31

Anyone may submit a nominee for a Wonder Women Award. Self-nominations are welcome. You can (and should!) submit yourself for consideration. Don’t be shy!

On the nomination form we ask that you:

  • Tell us why you are nominating this person in no more than 300 words.
  • Follow these Helpful Hints:
    • Focus on your nominee’s achievements and accomplishments instead of your personal relationship with the nominee.
    • Consider conveying information in list format in addition to or in place of written paragraphs (make it easy for a voter to read and quickly see important information!)
    • Review the Voting Criteria below and try to address one of more of the questions contained therein.
    • Provide any additional information we should know about your nominee. Files or links to articles, websites, etc. may be emailed to Amy Good.


The voting criteria will be reviewed by the WIT Nominations Committee and conveyed to voters, and is as follows:

Have the nominee’s achievements or leadership accomplishments:

  • Positively impacted her company, peers, or industry?
  • Contributed to the growth or improvement of her company or the toy, licensing or entertainment industries?
  • Served as a role model for other individuals or companies in the industry?


Initial nominees will be reviewed by the WIT staff and Nominations Committee to ensure eligibility is met. A nominee may be moved to a different category than originally nominated. Finalists will be determined by vote, conducted by WIT's Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and Chapter Chairs. All finalists will be contacted and have the opportunity to accept or decline their nomination prior to the announcement of finalists in late November. Voting will begin after finalists are announced and will be conducted by WIT members, Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and key industry influencers. Winners will be announced at the Wonder Women Awards on Sunday, February 17, 2019. *There may be more be than one winner in the Rising Star category.

What is the format of the WIT Wonder Women Awards?

The cocktail reception begins at 6:00 PM; the seated dinner and Awards program begins at 7:30 pm.

What is the suggested attire for the WIT Wonder Women Awards?

Get glammed up in cocktail attire, or come straight from Toy Fair in business attire – just come!

Is there assigned seating at the event?

Yes, there is assigned seating. We will try our best to seat you with everyone in your party. Please include any seating requests in the notes section of your ticket purchase and we will try to accommodate. Assigned seating is only guaranteed for full table purchases.
